Your voice on the line doesn't sound that fine to me I 've been alone so long I can sense resistance in your mind all the way from here your fear seeps into me. Your voice bound and frozen are you bracing yourself for the loss you fear: me not loving you . When you speak I dream or imagine your on love;s highway and your mind is trying to steer still don't trust this love is true? Anything makes me sadder it's this Titanic fear sinking inside of you and it's trying to take our love down, too. Love's not going where we decide, you know, you and me, we're just along for the ride and the pathetic part: you thinking I could lock you out of my heart. As you ponder three possible futures, never once mentioning me, I draw black roses on paper tossed and turned in a tormented sea, you know, everything I hoped for torn from me thrown on an unforgiving tide, unforgiving tide. But, if anything could make me sad it's this Titanic fear sinking inside of you and it's trying to take our love down, too. Love's not going where we decide, you know, you and me, we're just along for the ride and the amazing part. truly amazing part, nothing and no one can lock you out of my heart. Nothing and no one. When my heart no longer serves me, when my lungs have ceased to fill When my blood pools in its roadways and my sinews finally still Do not shut me in a box, to lay in semblance of repose Don’t paint and style me, I’ve no need for funeral clothes. Allow no balms to touch me, to preserve what’s left behind The fruit that was Alive has left me; why, then, display the rind ? [ repeat] Let that which Lives make of my flesh a banquet in its bed To feast and grow and breathe- let that which fed me now be fed. Give the dandelions my forehead, let the roses have my feet- My lips to kiss their roots below, our union now complete. Let the metals in my body mix new fire into stone Let them meld- let there be nothing barring merge of earth and bone. So that I might live in everything, that once lived in me My atoms reconfigured into falcon, worm and tree. And if the ground should shift, let the sun shine on my head ! Let my bones be softly whitened, let them gleam, when I am dead . When I am dead. When I am dead. about

Sweeter is a dark ballad of unrequited love and loss--a life cut short due to drunk driving and the regrets and sorrow that haunt those left behind.
